Ars longa, vita brevis*, so they say. A familiar aphorism touching on the temporal dimension of creation. The same rings true for the act of making. Hours of effort condensed into a single encounter. Mine, and yours. Do you see what I see?
On Paper is a series of origami works, folded into familiar forms but presented unfolded. The works make visible the time and care invested in their creation, while also pointing to the life they take on afterwards. Shaped by the hands that fold them, a work is never complete on its own, but becomes itself only in the encounter with another mind - in a shared moment of seeing.
The unfolded shapes (alphabetised, independent of images listed below): crane, frog, fortune teller, heart, lotus, moth, paper plane, swan, tulip, vessel.
*art is long, life is short
